In November 2022, the voters of Michigan passed Proposal 2022-02.
These provisions include new guidelines for:
The Michigan Constitution now recognizes that residents, once registered, may submit a one-time SINGLE SIGNED ABSENT VOTER BALLOT APPLICATION that will enable them to receive an absentee BALLOT before ALL future elections. What has changed? Prior to this proposal passing, an application for an absentee ballot was required to be filled out prior to every election cycle. This now is a one (1) time sign-up option covering all future elections.
Pre-paid return postage on absentee ballot applications and ballot envelopes are now provided to the absentee voter. Also, enhanced tracking system for absentee applications and ballots to permit voters to track, and to receive electronic notifications about the status of their applications and ballots.
Early voting must be offered for at least nine consecutive days, beginning on the second Saturday before the election and ending on the Sunday before the election, for at least eight hours a day for every Federal and State election. The first election at which early voting will be constitutionally required will be the 2024 presidential primary election.
Every voter appearing in person to cast a ballot is asked to present an approved photo ID. Registered voters who do not have photo ID or do not have photo ID with them can sign an affidavit of identity and vote a regular ballot; Prop 2 expands the types of photo ID that can be used for voting purposes to include those issued by additional educational institutions and by local governments.
The absentee ballots of military voters and voters living overseas are considered timely if they are postmarked by Election Day and received by the clerk’s office within six days of the election.

Residents of Armada Township may register to vote Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Armada Township Clerk’s office. You may also register to vote at any Secretary of State branch office.

Any registered voter can vote by absentee ballot at any time. They must first apply for an absentee ballot by completing the Absentee Application and returning it to the clerk’s office by person, mail it to 23121 East Main Street P.O. Box 578 Armada MI. 48005 or put it in our drop box in front of the building. It must be signed and dated to be accepted. The clerk will then mail an absentee ballot to the address given on the application in advance of the next election.
